Dee Gee In Colour is the creative world of Edinburgh-based artist Dee Gee, whose vibrant abstract paintings explore colour, texture, movement, and emotion through an intuitive and playful approach.
Originally from South Africa and now calling Scotland home, Dee Gee creates original artwork that celebrates experimentation, individuality, and finding beauty in unexpected places.
Every piece is hand-created, completely original, and designed to bring energy, personality, and conversation into a space.
ART WITHOUT RULES
There is no grand plan when a painting begins.
A colour catches my eye. A texture sparks an idea. A mark leads to another mark.
My work is built through layers of acrylic paint, paper, paint pens, chalk, crayon, watercolour, glass glaze, and whatever else feels right in the moment. Some pieces are energetic and chaotic, others quieter and more reflective, but all are driven by instinct rather than perfection.
I don’t take life too seriously, and my paintings reflect that. They are playful, expressive, imperfect, and full of personality.
I believe art should make you feel something long before it needs to be explained.

THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
I moved from South Africa to Edinburgh a few years ago and, like many people starting a new chapter, found myself looking for a creative outlet.
What began as painting in my spare time quickly became something much more meaningful. Creating art became a way to explore ideas, experiment with colour, and find moments of joy in everyday life.
Today, I continue to paint alongside my day job with the ambition of one day making art my full-time career. Every piece sold helps support that journey and allows me to spend more time creating new work.
ORIGINAL ARTWORK
Most of my artwork is created on paper, with selected pieces painted on stretched canvas.
Every artwork is an original piece—no mass production, no printed reproductions, and no AI-generated images. Each painting is created by hand and sold individually.
All available artworks are professionally framed and ready to display in your home, office, or creative space.
Because each piece is unique, once it is sold, it is gone.
